We run this tour once a year, at the end of March and begining of April. This is when the weather is best — not too cold with plenty of sunshine. In 2024, we are riding from April 2-9.

Spaces are extremely limited due to the peak season being so short, and the number of quality accommodations is very limited.

Arctic snowmobile tour

Ride a snowmobile across the wild country of northern Sweden, Norway and Finland as you pass the Arctic Ocean and the Barents Sea.

Tour Itinerary

Three Country Tour Above the Arctic Circle

Dog sledding to the Jukkasjarvi Icehotel

  • Jukkasjärvi Icehotel
  • A dogsled ride and overnight at a famous ice hotel
  • Dogsled from the airport to the Jukkasjärvi Ice Hotel and enjoy unique Swedish coffee over an open fire and a bath at the Jukkasjärvi village Cultural Sauna. The fireplace serves us drinks and local snacks to make the experience perfect. Today’s dinner is in the Icehotel’s restaurant, where you will be treated to a gourmet Ice Meny with lots of local specialities.

  • Riding accross lakes and dining at the highest bar in Sweden
  • Snowmobile along the Torne River and over Lake Torneträsk, the 6th largest lake in Sweden. The drive is flanked by Swedish mountains on both sides until we head to the highest bar in Sweden. Along the way, we pass the birthplace of Börje Salming, the Swedish ice hockey leged. Our lunch will be cooked by your guides over an open fire.
Reindeer are a common site on this adventure

  • Reindeer country in the extreme north of Sweden
  • Ride through the mountain plains of the Lap Lander country, where there are plenty of reindeer. Enjoy coffee breaks and lunch while reindeer pass by. A delicious dinner will be served up in a genuine lodge which boasts an incredible ambiance.

  • The Arctic Ocean and the Tri-Border of Sweden, Norway and Finland
  • We ride past the northernmost point in Sweden, circumvent the Tri-Border and reach the Arctic Ocean in Norway before returning to Kilpisjärvi.

  • We ride through rich, dense forests and follow lakes and creeks in order to cross the border into Finland. We’ll keep an eye out for wild animals before reaching Galdotieva and enjoying a well deserved sauna.

  • Now we are in the lowlands of the Arctic region and get a taste of wild untamed forests on marked and off-pist trails while looking out for wildlife.

  • Plenty of fun in the snow and an absolutley delightful night’s accomdation
  • Forest and frozen swamps, covered by 1.5 m of snow, will make our ride comfortable and varied. Being off the mountainous areas, we will be protected from the weather and will enjoy coffee breaks along our route. There will be plenty of time to have fun riding along frozen rivers and lakes.
Heading towards the Artic Ocean

  • N/A. You will fly out in the afternoon from Kiruna
  • The Tobacco Trail
  • We’ll follow the centuries-old Tobacco Trail used by Laplanders to transport tobacco and other goods. This narrow trail weaves through mysterious woods and is a great final confirmation of your new found snowmobile skills.

Inclusions and Extras

All-Inclusive Arctic snowmobile tour

You’ll ride a Lynx 600, Lynx 800, or Polaris 800 snowmobile.
You will receive all the necessary winter clothing like jackets, pants, gloves, goggles and helmets for riding in sub-zero temperatures. You only need to bring a change of clothes for nighttime.
You will stay in hotels, modern cabins and mountain lodges. A traditional sauna is prepared for you each night, and ice baths or rolling in the snow is a natural fringe benefit.
All meals and non-alcoholic drinks, including local delicacies cooked over open fires, are covered.
All fuel is included.
Two experienced English-speaking guides will accompany you.
