Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation (Blue Dragon) is a Hanoi-based charity that assists children to escape poverty by providing various services such as rescue from sex trafficking, slavery and forced labour, and provision of housing, employment and education.
Blue Dragon, founded in 2002 by Michael Brosowski, has rescued over 400 children from textile factories and 100 girls from brothels and forced marriages.
Blue Dragon currently helps approximately 1,500 children and youths in Vietnam, primarily in the provinces of Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hue, and Dien Bien Phu. In Hanoi, Blue Dragon runs a drop-in centre for street kids where they can play, shower, study, and participate in social activities.
In addition to providing direct services, Blue Dragon provides training to government authorities on topics such as human trafficking and child abuse and collaborates with legislators to modify and strengthen the country’s child-related legal framework.
