When can you ride the Hinalayas in India?
The riding season in the Himalayas runs from late May through late September. At other times, the road is impossible due to snow. We always schedule our Himalayan motorbike tours for August because the weather is typically mild, the mountains are a sea of colour, and the roads empty of Indian tourists.
What is the best motorcycle to ride in the India Himalayas?
We use the 500cc Royal Enfield Bullet on our Himalayan motorcycle tours. It is a simple, rugged, and classic motorcycle with high torque and a low centre of gravity. The bike is comfortable for the Himalayas motorcycle tour, rugged and simple to repair, and an all-around favourite with riders.
Do I need to worry about getting Delhi belly?
Forget your preconditions for India! Travelling to the cool mountains during your Himalayas motorbike trip differs from the hot southern plains. The food is heavily vegetarian, and riders rarely, if ever, get more than a tummy upset.
Is altitude sickness a problem during a Himalayas motorbike tour?
Not on our rides, because the route is calibrated to ensure you are acclimatised before reaching high altitudes. We do not recommend taking altitude sickness medication during a Himalayas tour; rather, you should drink lots of water and be responsible. That said, the altitude will cause fatigue, but our Himalayan motorcycle adventure route accommodates this.
