The first time I saw the Minsk my thoughts were “oh bugger, that’s big”.

Probably because my experience with bikes was limited to riding drunkenly back from the pub on my 10-year-old pushbike. A few hours into it, and we were loving it; after 1,000 km, we didn’t want to leave.

The people were incredibly friendly, and the landscape was truly amazing. The rice wine was good and strong, the pickled bear cub was kind of weird and the snake was definitely hot! Definitely the best trip I’ve ever done. Having a ‘long nose’ [foreign] guide who can speak Vietnamese opens doors you don’t even know are there.

We’ll be back! Cheers oi!
