I know I will not succeed in translating into words how I feel about the journey we took with you. It goes beyond words and I still miss getting on the bike in the morning to drive into another amazing day. It’s so wonderful that those experiences are a part of your life…makes me dream of a life like that. So the residual feelings are basically both mournful-missing-it and thrilled-to-have-experienced-it. Appropriate to have that dichotomoy since the trip had so much dichotomy as well, with each side of the coin intensifying the other: elation and soreness, soothing moments and moments with a bit of fear, smooth riding and jarring riding, the amazing invitiations into the homes and sharing of Vietnamese family events along with the dread of eating another smashed duck skull spring roll!, not wanting the ride to ever end (usually) and wanting the ride to please end (when dark, rainy, and eyes filled with bugs). And the scenes that filled the eyes….WOW….all interesting and beautiful, some in a subtle way and some in an in-your-face jaw-dropping gorgeous way.

So much to take in and process in 6 days. I think that is why it will always be with me, every day, because it takes way more than 6 days to ponder and reflect on the sheer quantity and variety of input to the brain and heart received on that trip.
