“Only two crashes – one the first day, one the last; so much for that
improved driving over 10 days! Some of the most beautiful people, scenery,
and experiences. Highlights included ‘thuoc lao’ overlooking Fansipan Mountain
after an excellent brunch picnic with the obligatory chilli sauce, and a
night in a Ha Nhi village with copious rice liquor and ‘chicken dancing’.

“Not sure what Neil ‘5 times a night’ MacGregor had got me into when
arriving in Hanoi. However, 10 days later, it had proved to be an amazing
time. Wonderful scenery, unforgettable experiences and enough liquor to make
even the hardest drinker wince. Who would have thought it would be possible
to have a lads’ tour in the far northern hills of Vietnam.
Can’t believe the mechanic took back by bike with a smile after the roads
and tracks it had conquered.

“A truly special experience. Bike riding is much more fun than any
rollercoaster. The scenery is incredible but the people we met amazed me
even more. Everyone was extremely smiley and friendly. Just make sure you
visit the snake village in Hanoi too. Thanks very much for an amazing

note – thousands of smiling faces, goat penis liquor, ‘thuoc lao’ moments at
sunset, staying at the Ha Nhi village, oh and the snake village experience
is definitely one not to forget.
