I’ve done quite a bit of trail riding in uk over 20yrs and this trip was absolutely amazing. The local knowledge and competence of Digby not forgetting the invaluable assistance of our tail end mechanic & all round guardian angel Long made this 8 day trip all the more enjoyable. We 8 were all up for a bit of non tarmac and sure enough we rode on what we would classify as a goat trail. Mind you the small tarmac roads were so full of potholes they pretty much classify as “off road” anyway. Hotels were all 4 star and food was better than I have has in 4 star hotels in Paris. Views to die for. Locals very friendly & not yet corrupted ny lavish western tourism. Bikes were surprisingly competent & reliable and being Minsks added to the general quirkyness. And of course I must mention the subconscious presence of mrs Thuy back in Hanoi who earned enormous gratitude for sorting taxis & translations & generally being available at midnight!
