The people at Explore Indochina worked wonders to put together the trip of a lifetime. Their staff coordinated our stay in Hanoi and helped with other travel arrangements while we were still in Canada. It made planning the trip much easier.

The actual motorcycle tour was an experience beyond words. We were first introduced to our Minsks in Hanoi. After a rapid introduction to Vietnam driving, we settled into the groove. The Minsk lived up to the hype, and it was love! The next nine days on “the Roof Ride” went by at a furious pace. We put in some long days riding, but the scenery, the people and the roadside lunches helped the time pass quickly.

Digby had a great knowledge of the language, the varied cultures and the history of the areas we travelled through. Accommodation and food were another highlight of the trip. The regional drinks were especially interesting, and hard to describe to the people back home. We experienced some fancy hotels and some humble homes, but everyone we met greeted us with the same curiosity and enthusiasm. I can honestly say that we would have experienced an entirely different Vietnam if not on a motorbike.

During the introductory meeting in Hanoi, our guide told us that each day would prove to be more impressive and amazing than the one before. He was right. It was difficult to call it quits after nine days, but we are already trying to figure out how we can get back on a Minsk to continue our exploration.

Thanks for an amazing time!
