Country Overview

India delivers extreme altitude, dramatic switchbacks, and some of the most striking roads on earth. The Himalayas dominate the riding experience, with cliff cut highways, high passes, and raw valleys stretching deep into disputed borderlands.

Historic monasteries, ancient trade routes, and rugged colonial outposts sit right on the path, linking high speed mountain runs with cultural depth. This is high intensity riding, built around altitude, exposure, and sheer scale, a natural fit for riders chasing technical roads and unbroken mountain horizons.

Country FAQ

The riding season in the Himalayas runs from late May through late September. At other times, the road is impossible due to snow. We always schedule our Himalayan motorbike tours for August because the weather is typically mild, the mountains are a sea of colour, and the roads empty of Indian tourists.
We use the 500cc Royal Enfield Bullet on our Himalayan motorcycle tours. It is a simple, rugged, and classic motorcycle with high torque and a low centre of gravity. The bike is comfortable for the Himalayas motorcycle tour, rugged and simple to repair, and an all-around favourite with riders.
Forget your preconditions for India! Travelling to the cool mountains during your Himalayas motorbike trip differs from the hot southern plains. The food is heavily vegetarian, and riders rarely, if ever, get more than a tummy upset.
Not on our rides, because the route is calibrated to ensure you are acclimatised before reaching high altitudes. We do not recommend taking altitude sickness medication during a Himalayas tour; rather, you should drink lots of water and be responsible. That said, the altitude will cause fatigue, but our Himalayan motorcycle adventure route accommodates this.
The best time to ride motorbike tours in India, particularly the Himalayas, is from May to September. During these months, the weather in the Himalayas is warmer, and most roads are open, making it safer and more enjoyable. For example, the high mountain passes that connect many beautiful places are often covered in snow during winter, but in summer, they are clear. This is when you can fully enjoy the breathtaking views of India motorcycle tours and experience the adventure of motorbike trips in India.
Not at all! Many people in their 50s and even older enjoy India motorcycle tours. If you feel healthy, can handle long rides, and are comfortable on a bike, there’s no reason to let age stop you. Motorcycle tours in the Himalayas aren’t just about speed—they’re about taking in the amazing scenery, meeting people, and enjoying the journey. Plus, the guides will make sure everyone is riding safely and having fun.
